Highlights
I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Traffic Coordinator at Watermark Retirement Communities! So excited to be part of this wonderful community.
After working at One World Beef for almost two years, I have decided to pursue the opportunity to live and work at a ranch through WWOOF-USA®.
After graduating from Pepperdine in May 2021, I emerged from four years of rigorous studies and juggling multiple jobs and internships to find myself feeling burned out and lacking a sense of purpose. As I reflected on what brings me joy, I thought back to my childhood, when I spent most of my days outside. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, I (like many others) re-discovered the magic of the great outdoors, and have been taking advantage of all that the beautiful coastal town I call home offers. I decided that whatever I was going to do next, it was going to involve spending time outside.
It was then that I remembered something that I looked into doing in college: living and working on a farm/ranch for a period of time. I grew up riding horses and have always dreamed of owning my own, but this part of my life was consumed by the never-ending process of applying to colleges, then internships, then jobs.
So, I began researching opportunities to work with horses through WWOOF-USA®, an organization that facilitates homestays on organic farms all over the world. After interviewing several hosts, I decided to spend two months at a ranch with 52 horses in Idaho. I will spend close to two months living and working there full-time, where I’m seeking mentorship on owning horses and advancing my riding skills.
I am so excited about this opportunity and grateful to everyone—friends, family, colleagues—for supporting me in this endeavor.
