Unsolicited job advice for engineers I know who are looking for work: consider other industries than tech for your next opportunity. Many established companies are ripe with challenges to solve that could benefit from those with a lot of experience in more mature technical organizations. There are many industries that are likely more recession-proof and need people. Like I have heard oft repeated for years by other consultants I know who have done work in a lot of different types of companies - many companies are now becoming technology companies whether they have realized it yet or not.

And I'm happy to provide leads if you are looking.
