I really need to get this off of my chest.

And I know there are going to be some people who won't be happy to read this...

But Spin to Win pop-ups are cheapening your brand.

I know they look fun, but that's really it.

Most of the time, your potential customers feel like they're rigged (aren't they?), and it shows them that they could have gotten a bigger discount, but they didn't.

This isn't a great way to start off their relationship with your brand.

You might get the first purchase, but it's highly unlikely you'll get the second since your subscribers won't see the real value of your products.

There are better ways to grow your email lists that won't tank your click rates and will actively build trust in your brand. But Spin to Win isn't it.

====================== 💫 PS: If you want to increase email sign-ups test these things: ✅ Split-test different discount offers ✅ Microcommitments ✅ Offer something valuable instead of a discount ✅ Create a quiz as the pop-up

Email marketing is not dead.

Do you know what is dead?

Not actively engaging with your audience or list.

Constantly screaming BUY MY STUFF at your audience.

Bombarding people with notifications non-stop.

Not listing to your current customers.

Ignoring mobile or not putting it first.

Not providing value.

Yes, email marketing isn't as easy as it was in the early 2000s, but guess what?

Facebook Ads aren't as easy this year as they were last year. Things change.

The difference with email marketing is you actually own your email list and have control over what your subscribers see. It isn't "pay to play", or in most cases "pay to see".

The rules aren't invisible and always changing.

And most importantly, it works.
