Last night's brainstorming session for our upcoming hackathon was nothing short of inspirational. A group of builders came together to delve into how technology can tackle some of Israel's most critical issues. The energy and creativity were off the charts, pushing our discussions far beyond what we had planned and leading to some truly insightful conversations.

Huge shoutouts to Yuval Ariav and Dr. Liram Koblentz for their invaluable insights. Yuval Ariav opened our eyes to the world of "Truth Tech,"emphasizing the need to navigate the complexities of our current information landscape and address the inherent biases within. He also highlighted the crucial role of knowledge platforms like Wikipedia and YouTube in shaping future narratives and the importance of ensuring these resources reflect a balanced perspective.

Dr. Liram Koblentz shed light on the sophisticated tactics used by extremists, including the deployment of AI to craft and disseminate fake news, and the ongoing challenges in countering radicalization through alternative channels on the dark net.

This session wouldn't have been possible without the incredible team at A.Team (looking at you, Raphael Ouzan, Ryan Daniels, and Jackie Wexler!). a.team is creating a new builder economy that transforms the way people work and companies build. From their day to day work to the events they put on at their clubhouse in NYC, a.team embodies building great things with great people, making it the perfect environment to nurture our hackathon vision into fruition.

🌟 If you weren't able to attend this session but still want to participate in the hackathon, please reach out to me or the incredible co-leaders of this initiative, Aviv Lazar and Daniel Levner. It's never too late to join a remarkable community of builders who are dedicated to making a difference!

Last November, we brought together 85+ talented builders for a hackathon focused on creating impactful solutions for Israel and the Jewish community during these times of war.

In just 30 hours, we saw projects transform from mere ideas to impressive solutions. Some examples include a sophisticated multi-model platform to combat misinformation, automated logistics to ship thousands of supplies around the world, a reliability score for social media accounts, and a multi-factor based antisemitism scoring system for universities.

🌟 Upcoming Hackathon Announcement 🌟

Encouraged by the profound impact of our last hackathon, we are thrilled to announce that we'll be hosting another Build for Israel hackathon in NYC. Whether you're an engineer, designer, or thinker, we'd love to welcome you into this community of passionate and talented tech professionals dedicated to making a difference.

Additionally, if you’ve been working on any projects for Israel that could benefit from tech expertise, please reach out to me, and we can discuss if it’s a good candidate for a hackathon project.

📅 Pre-Hackathon Ideation Session: Monday, February 12: https://lu.ma/ygkrpzkl 📅

If you're interested in participating in the next hackathon, come join us for an ideation session this Monday, February 12.

At this session, we'll hear from top researchers on critical topics like the misinformation war and explore methods used in spreading propaganda and anti-Semitism online. Then, we’ll join breakout rooms to brainstorm hackathon project ideas and connect with other hackathon participants.

Let’s innovate for impact. Together, we can continue to support Israel and the global Jewish community in meaningful ways.
