Bruce Willison

Former bank executive; Dean Emeritus, UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management

Bruce G. Willison is an accomplished professional with a rich background in the banking industry, having retired as Dean Emeritus of the UCLA Anderson School of Management in 2012.

Throughout his impressive 26-year career in banking, Mr. Willison held various esteemed positions, including President and COO of Home Savings of America and H.F. Ahmanson & Co.

His journey in banking started at Bank of America where he undertook several multinational lending roles in Los Angeles and Mexico City before moving to First Interstate Bancorp in 1979 as a strategic planner.

At First Interstate Bancorp, he excelled in multiple executive capacities encompassing corporate banking, retail banking, marketing, and trust/investments.

Noteworthy milestones in his career include serving as President & CEO of First Interstate Bank, Ltd., Chairman and CEO of First Interstate Bank of Oregon, and Chairman, President & CEO of First Interstate Bank of California.

Mr. Willison's leadership acumen led him to become the President and COO of H.F. Ahmanson and Co., the parent company of Home Savings of America, a major savings bank in the United States.

In addition to his corporate roles, Bruce Willison has held board positions in over ten domestic and international public companies, currently serving as Chairman of Tyfone, Inc., Chairman of SunAmerica's Annuity Mutual Fund complex, and director of iCashe and SideAssure.

His commitment to education and community is evident through his roles as Chairman of the Catholic Schools Collaborative, Vice Chairman of the LA Archdiocese's Catholic Education Council, and a director of the Specialty Family Foundation.

Bruce Willison pursued his education at UCLA for his Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 1970 and later at USC for his MBA in 1973.
