Bryan Hobbs

Founder & CEO at Pruuvn

Bryan Hobbs is the Founder and CEO of Pruuvn, a credentialing and data trust management company established in 2019. His professional background includes extensive experience in civil engineering, where he oversaw large infrastructure projects across various sectors, including corporate and governmental roles. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from The University of Alabama, complemented by a minor in Computer Applications Technology.

Hobbs founded Pruuvn to address the challenges faced by gig economy workers regarding credential verification. His motivation stemmed from personal experiences where his wife, an educator, encountered difficulties in re-verifying her credentials with each job move, often resulting in lost income due to outdated processes. Pruuvn utilizes blockchain technology to empower individuals by allowing them to control and share their verified credentials efficiently, thereby fostering upward economic mobility.

Under his leadership, Pruuvn aims to become a leading data trust globally, promoting economic opportunities for individuals by simplifying the onboarding process for organizations. The platform not only enhances job accessibility but also connects users with financial services and educational opportunities.123

In addition to his role at Pruuvn, Hobbs is involved in other ventures, such as Hobbs Management Services & Construction, and has held project management positions at organizations like MARTA and Jacobs.24

For all my compliance admins out there - we already know what's at stake when service providers slip by with fraudulent insurance certificates or fake licenses. It's literally the reason compliance officer roles exist. But for those not in this work day-to-day, I'm not sure people truly grasp just how easy it is to create a convincing fake Certificate of Insurance (COI).

To be honest, even we’re shocked by how quick and simple it’s become. This morning, our team conducted an eye-opening exercise: given two COIs, who could identify the fake? We had our youngest team member use AI to doctor the most convincing COI she could... and by sight, none of us could distinguish the fraud from the genuine article.

Let that sink in for a moment. Because the implications are scary: financial risk, legal consequences, AND reputation & brand damage.

We entered this industry knowing there would be smart people who can create very convincing fakes. That's precisely why our system fights fire with fire - using specifically trained AI to detect fraudulent certificates that can fool the human eye.

In today's digital age, we literally can't afford to trust our eyes. Businesses need robust, evolving solutions… because fraud is getting sophisticated.

The Pruuvn team has been all over the US attending Tow Shows on the coasts. Each show saw hundreds of attendees in the Towing & Roadside Assistance space and we talked to many. So I feel pretty confident when I say that change is coming.

Sooner rather than later, it's going to be required and enforced to have easily accessible proof of credentialed status, both for drivers and for owner-operators. We get into some of our thoughts on how the industry can improve credentialing in the latest blog ⬇️
