My daughter, Alena, would have been 31 years old today. She passed away at the tender age of 22, just short of turning 23. She overdosed on heroin. It all started at the tender age of 17 with opioids. When she could no longer find the money for the opioids, she turned to heroin at $5.00 a bag. I am writing this for a few reasons. One is that I have no one to talk to today and so the writing helps... a little. I would like to ask anyone who is reading this to say a special prayer for my baby girl. I would also like to ask that you include in your prayer, a prayer of HOPE for all of the parents going through this right now with their child. A prayer of salvation to all of the children and adults who are enslaved by their addictions at this moment. I pray that my child is at peace in heaven, cradled in God's arms and never ever to feel pain again. I love you Alena and we miss you terribly. Amen.
