I had the privilege of participating in a fascinating event with leaders from academia, health systems, and corporations, discussing the development of a robust and novel medical data sharing framework in Africa.
Africa has the capacity, energy, and will to drive new and better ways to leverage healthcare data across borders in a secure and pragmatic manner. Many examples were shared of how access to data can help from Ebola, Covid, MPox to aid those from war torn countries. We listened to speakers who themselves have been forced to leave their own homes due to conflict in Tigray and South Sudan.
As we expand our Global Health work at Proximie we are committed to health systems strengthening and capacity building in Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, and Malawi.
Under the leadership of Dr. Shannon Shibata-Germanos, our Global Health Lead, we are using technology to scale surgical training and improve access to quality care.
