Caitlin Sweeney is a seasoned coastal manager with a wealth of expertise and knowledge accumulated over 25 years in various roles including executive management, policy development, permitting and enforcement, project management, personnel management, program development, and strategic planning.

Her key strengths lie in developing effective responses to critical coastal challenges like climate change, watershed management, wetland restoration, public access, ecosystem-based management, and information management.

Caitlin pursued her education in marine affairs at the University of Washington for her MMA degree and in environmental studies at Mills College for her BA degree.

She has served in prominent positions at notable organizations such as the San Francisco Estuary Partnership, where she held the role of Director and Senior Planner, and at the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC) as Chief Deputy Director and Senior Planner. Prior to these roles, she gained valuable experience as a Coastal Program Analyst at the California Coastal Commission.
