🇷🇴 Why I chose to start Nostra:Biome in Romania ?
A lot of people ask me why I insisted so much on starting Nostra in Romania.
The answer is simple:
Romania is where my mindset was shaped, where I was pushed to be innovative, and where my dreams of success were fueled. I think Romania is now one of the best countries in Europe to live in. ( Probaly a lot of you will through hate to this remark, but again I used to live in many countries and I saw them drastically degrading, while Romania was rising.)
When I first left Romania, I never imagined I would be writing these lines. But today, I see a Romania that is fantastic compared to the one I left 12 years ago. This country has transformed, and it needs people who are skilled, brave, and willing to set examples of innovation at the highest level.
I understand that for some of my fellow Romanians, it can be difficult to see the good amidst the challenges we still face. It’s easy to get distracted by the negatives. I know it's not perfect, but things are improving. Let’s move away from the agenda of nihilism and negativity about our country, and start thinking about it in a more balanced and neutral way.
I've always had the opportunity to compare Romania with other countries that once seemed light-years ahead. But now, those gaps are closing. I'm confident, energetic, and driven to make a positive impact.
For me, it's now a personal challenge to prove that you can operate at the highest level anywhere in the world, including Romania. I want to set an example for the younger generations, who need more role models, who need evidence that anything is possible if you are committed, serious, and motivated.
And lastly Romania needs a biotech unicorn 🦄 and more unicors in general!
