Cameron Whitten, a Portland resident since 2009, has transformed from a homeless youth into a well-known community advocate, literary artist, and civic entrepreneur.

His activism spans various civic issues, including affordable housing, anti-racism, and government accountability.

Whitten gained recognition for his political campaigns and a 55-day hunger strike in 2012 advocating for housing justice.

With over a decade of experience in leadership roles within nonprofits, civic organizations, and political movements, he has been associated with initiatives like Occupy Portland, Know Your City, and Portland's Resistance.

As a citizen journalist and active social media user, Whitten engages with public issues by live streaming protests and events in the Pacific Northwest.

In 2017, he established Streams of Resistance LLC, a multimedia and leadership development business, where he serves as Principal.

Beyond business, Whitten is a sought-after motivational speaker, conducting equity and inclusion workshops and serving on the Board of Directors for Pioneer Courthouse Square, Inc.

His educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Portland State University, a Master of Business Administration from Willamette University, and studies at Portland Community College.

Previously, Whitten held roles such as Founder and CEO at Brown Hope, Executive Director at Q Center, and Political Organizer at Tax Fairness Oregon, showcasing his extensive and diverse professional experience.
