Usually our Electrification Caucus events are on the Hill, but this one is virtual--so you can be in the room! ⚡ Register to join us tomorrow (Thursday) at 12p PST/3p EST for a briefing on how policymakers can help build a stronger, smarter, and cleaner grid for the 21st Century. 🔌 Speakers:

• U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor (FL-14), Electrification Caucus Co-Chair  • Dr. Vanessa Z Chan, OTT Director, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) • Louise White, Advisor, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) • Jonathan Carter, Management Analyst, GDO, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) • Julia Selker, Executive Director, WATT Coalition • Russell Mendell, US Program Associate, RMI • Sage Briscoe, Director of Federal Policy, Rewiring America

As we accelerate the transition to a more efficient, electrified clean energy future, the need to modernize our grid presents enormous opportunities to improve resiliency and reliability for the long haul. Federal policy has a critical role to play in ensuring that we not only meet the moment, but that we do so in a way that ensures lower costs to American families.

The briefing will examine projected demand growth and solutions to new clean energy and transmission deployment; the role of grid-enhancing technologies (or “GETs”) in supporting new transmission capacity; the benefits of grid innovation for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and lowering costs consumers, and more.

Speakers will also discuss how recent legislative proposals — including the Advancing GETs Act of 2024, the Clean Electricity and Transmission Acceleration Act of 2023, and others — can advance innovation and unlock the potential of a smarter, stronger grid.

Last but not least, a big shout-out to my colleagues co-producing this exciting conversation: Rep. Castor's indispensable climate & energy policy lead John Pappas, my Rewiring America teammates Alexander A., Alana Murphy and Jordan Fontenot, and Adam Fischer at Waxman Strategies.
