I want to give a shout-out to all the mid-career founders out there; those people who have years of experience and knowledge and are applying that to a digital startup!

There’s two sides to being a founder.

On the one hand it’s exciting and exhilarating, enthralling and entertaining. It’s almost always frustrating but every now and again it delivers life-affirming highs. And if you’re lucky enough and work hard enough it could deliver you from ‘working life’ and give you an income while you do something you love.

On the other hand, it can be an incredibly lonely journey with very few places to turn for support outside your immediate family. When developing my own products I’ve had more support for completing a 70km weekend ride from my crew on Strava (thanks guys!) than for putting in 70 hours of work during the week and pushing out a major new product release.

So, to address this problem I created an app called pNeura (silent p!....pronounced new-rah) that is a bit like Strava for entrepreneurs. pNeura is a social network that gives early stage founders the ability to ‘build in public’ by sharing structured updates on their progress (product feature releases, new customers, strategy change, new hires, funding obtained etc) and for other founders and investors to cheer them on. Importantly it gives founders the ability to reach out to their followers to ask for help and advice on areas where they’re getting stuck.

If you’re a founder and feel like giving pNeura a try, its available for free on the App Store and Google Play.

And, if you’re a mid-career potential founder with an idea you want to kick around please feel free to DM me. I’m always keen to spend an hour at a virtual white board to help with ideation!
