It was a treat to visit with colleagues the newly opened Ewiva premium charging station in Rome, part of the initiative that will deploy 3,000 ultra-fast chargers (up to 350kW) in partnership with Volkswagen AG.
The network is powered by renewables and this station is also outfitted with solar canopies made of PV panels manufactured at the Enel Group's 3Sun gigafactory in Sicily. It also includes totem LCD Media modules for information, communication, advertising, entertainment, and electric charging combined in one solution. The Ewiva network takes an open approach to public charging, meaning that it is available for all Mobility Service Providers (MSPs) and drivers of any EV from all manufacturers.
“The expansion of the charging infrastructure plays a key role in the success of e-cars. Enel and Volkswagen, two strong partners from different industries, have now joined forces to tackle this task in a targeted manner”, said Thomas Schmall, Volkswagen Group Board Member for Technology and CEO of Volkswagen Group Components.
