Highlights
In the beginning of 2023, I set a goal to (re)connect with creative humans on #LinkedIn. 15- or 30-minute blocks to check in and chat.
I was newly unemployed and felt pretty overwhelmed. And lonely.
A month in, I connected with Alicia Robinson. While we didn’t know each other, we learned that we were both affected by the same round of layoffs at Headspace.
This inspired an open conversation about how fear (of failure) was affecting our next steps. And our mental health.
But sharing our experiences helped. And our shared empathy opened us up to possibility, creativity, and a new perspective.
So we decided to create an animation project for April, #nationalstressawarenessmonth, in response to the question:

This project highlights: 🗣️ Honesty about & in response to feelings. 🫂 Empathy — and the beginning of a new relationship, too. 👥 Connection as a reminder that we are never truly alone.
🔆 Working on this project brought up a newfound sense of joy. We hope it does the same for you.
