Carol Alexander is a renowned expert in FinTech, data analysis, blockchains, crypto assets and derivatives markets, with a strong background in pricing and hedging financial instruments, volatility analysis, investment strategy, market risk analysis, and portfolio management.

Currently serving as a Professor of Finance at the University of Sussex and a Visiting Professor at Peking University Business School, Carol has a dual career in both industry and academia, bringing a wealth of experience to her roles.

Carol's expertise spans designing and implementing mathematical models for pricing, trading, hedging, and risk assessment across various sectors including asset management, stock exchange, and banking, having worked with notable clients such as Credit Agricole, the New York Stock Exchange, and the Intercontinental Exchange.

An accomplished author, Carol has penned best-selling textbooks like "Market Models," and the four-volume series "Market Risk Analysis," along with her latest work on "Corruption and Fraud in Financial Markets," which she edited with Douglas Cumming, all published by Wiley.

With a solid educational foundation, Carol holds a BSc in Mathematics with Experimental Psychology, a PhD in Algebraic Number Theory from the University of Sussex, and an MSc in Mathematical Economics and Econometrics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Carol has held significant corporate roles such as Director and Head of Market Risk Modelling at Nikko Securities, Director at Algorithmics Inc., and Bond Analyst at Phillips & Drew.

Carol's contributions extend beyond the corporate world as she has chaired the Professional Risk Manager's International Association and gained valuable experience in non-executive roles.
