Carolina has demonstrated leadership and senior management skills throughout her career. She is a feminist advocate focusing on women's and girl's rights, including issues related to violence against women and girls. Her work also encompasses the rights of migrants, refugees, asylum seekers, ethnic minorities, and combating trafficking and labor exploitation.

Her educational background includes a Master's in Development Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science, as well as Bachelor's degrees in Law and Economics from Universidad de Los Andes.

Carolina has held various notable positions in organizations such as Executive Director at the International Detention Coalition, Board member at the Global Coalition for Migration, and Chair of the Gender, Women, and Diversity Group at the Asia Pacific Refugee Rights Network.

Her extensive experience includes roles such as Director at the Jesuit Refugee Service - Australia, Vice Chair at the Black and Ethnic Minority Advice Network, Trustee at Maternity Action, and Head of Policy and Advocacy at One World Action, among many others.

She has also been involved in a wide range of boards and committees related to human rights, gender issues, migration, and asylum, demonstrating her commitment to advocating for marginalized and vulnerable communities globally.
