Carolyn Bassett is an accomplished student success leader with a strong background in higher education administration and undergraduate advising.

She holds a B.A. in Political Science from Bates College and an M.A. in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration from Boston College Lynch School.

Currently serving as the Associate Provost of Student Success at the University of Massachusetts flagship campus in Amherst, Massachusetts, Carolyn has a passion for helping students navigate the challenges of higher education.

Her expertise lies in creating supportive and intentional infrastructures that prioritize undergraduate advising, persistence initiatives, and high-impact learning experiences.

Carolyn is dedicated to guiding students from diverse backgrounds, including first-generation college students, students of color, and transfer students, through their academic journeys.

With a wealth of experience in various roles at institutions such as Amherst College, Antioch University New England, and Boston University, Carolyn has a proven track record of supporting student success and advocating for the value of the liberal arts.

She excels in translating academic language for students and families, advocating for the undergraduate experience, and creating pathways that integrate academic and co-curricular opportunities.

Through her leadership, Carolyn aims to help students overcome challenges, celebrate successes, and create personalized pathways to achieve their academic and personal goals.
