Neuro disorders like Parkinson's, PSP(Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) aka Parkinson's Plus (Fatal within 7 years)....IMO, are the worst kind of illness to have, that its impact is so disabling to the patients and those around them. It is very hard for other people to understand what struggles and pain the patient is going through, let alone empathise. Patients are often perceived to be 'acting it up', when they lost control of basic functions that we take for granted, like bladder control, salivation control, taste, smell, swallow, tongue movement, jaw movements, distance judgement, speech, mental faculties like planning, packing a bag, balancing, feeding yourself without landing the spoon on your nose, ability to laugh, to cry, to smile, to frown, to follow conversations, ability to order coffee, to sleep normally without wetting the bed due to uncontrolled sweating even in the aircon, ability to enjoy exercise, to breath normally without perpetual shortness of breath, to hold up the body without slouching, to have moment of peace without perpetual probing nerves and muscle pain in limbs, to be able to read, to google without feeling very tired......... and more ...battling over 60 of these disabling symptoms daily... under such circumstances, dying looks like a very attractive proposition. But, it is easier said than done, it is very very hard to kill oneself responsibly n without making a mess, the probability of a successful clean death is less than 50 percent, easily end up as vegetable. So, fight to the last breath is the BEST OPTION, and be grateful to God that you are still breathing,to be able to fight. So I did just that. Stay e Fight .... never, never, ever give-up!
What a weekend it was ..... founding of Dragons' Way Martial Sports as a Business Unit within DWP, with Prof Huang and National Sanda Coach, Lai Yong Sheng, at his Cairnhill CC, Muay Thai Gym, along with his 6 Instructors, all burly built heavy hitters. Interestingly, these days we see many Muay Thai Fighters going into Sanda. It's a good Step 1 - 2 move, as in Muay Thai, one learns the 8 eight weapons, 2 fists, 2 elbows, 2 knees and 2 feet, and hone them to perfect striking weapons, but predominantly striking. With these as foundation, they move into Sanda, which adds take downs, throws, body slam of all kinds, really formidable. Personally, I rather take 3 Gloved shots to the head, or 3 bare knuckle shots to the body, than to take one take down, throw or body slam,
