Highlights
Curious about the impact of the deluge of recent Executive Orders and Regulatory guidance on AI safety? Check out this great article Isabel Gottlieb and Oma Seddiq of Bloomberg Law wrote breaking down the evolving regulatory landscape and what organizations can do to drive innovation while adhering to the new business directives around AI.
The article has some great insights from yours truly as well as fellow AI fans James Sherer, Raffi Krikorian, Navrina Singh, Ashley Casovan, Hugh Gamble, David Haber, and Amba Kak.
A year after ChatGPT’s debut, companies are preparing their artificial intelligence systems for new regulations and standards as President Joe Biden’s sweeping executive order takes shape.
Some businesses already are beginning to prepare for new US requirements to ensure their tools don’t harm users as AI risks spreading misinformation, worsening discrimination and bias, and violating people’s privacy.
“Number one really is around being able to test for security,” Cat Casey, chief growth officer at legal tech company Reveal, said. Businesses should start building an audit trail to show they’re complying with standards, conducting red-teaming—a form of adversarial security testing—before a public release, working toward watermarking AI-generated material, and fixing biases in a model, she said.
“If you’re paying attention to the landscape, you’ll get 80 or 90% of the way there,” she said. “Doing it is very complicated. But thinking about what you need to do is not.”

About last night- holy moly- I put the Cat Signal up in #Nyc and so many wonderful tristate legal eagles showed up (Some from as far as Connecticut)!
Was truly wonderful to soak up the last of the summertime weather in the city that never sleeps with over a hundred of my fave NYC friends!!
High above Times Square we laughed together and reveled in how wonderful it was to be connecting in person again!
No matter how many cities I host these awesome Reveal-Brainspace Roadshows, I remain awestruck at how rejuvenating and rewarding it is to see me big, wacky, wonderful Legal Tech family in person again.
A huge thank you to Wendell R Jisa for continuing to invest in bringing the legal tech community back together across the globe.
Now on to the amazing The Master's Conference™ today to add some learning to the laughter and libations of last night.
