Catherine Nguyen

Catherine Nguyen is a renowned researcher who has been serving as a Research Director at INSERM since 2000. She led the UMR 1090-TAGC (Advanced Technologies for Genomics and Clinics) and co-directed the IBiSA TGML platform (Transcriptomics and Genomics-Marseille Luminy) until 2018. In 2019, she was appointed to lead the Genomic, Genetic, and Bioinformatics thematic institute at INSERM, guiding the research organization's strategy in this thematic area.

From the onset of her tenure at INSERM, Catherine focused on advancing research in immunology and oncology while advocating for technological development in genomics and transcriptomic analysis. Since 1998, she has been instrumental in shaping the bioinformatics landscape. Driven by a passion for knowledge transfer and its application, she actively contributed to research development by providing training and logistical support to numerous projects. Her work transcends the theoretical realm, leading to the creation of new tools for diagnosis, prognosis, and aiding healthcare practitioners in their daily decision-making.

Catherine extended her impact globally through her involvement in establishing research Masters programs, notably in Lebanon and Vietnam (USTH program). Over the course of her career, her research efforts have yielded over a hundred publications in prestigious international journals and publications.
