Catherine Tong was the President of Oxford Women in Computer Science (OxWoCS) from August 2020 to August 2021.23 She completed her PhD (DPhil) in Computer Science at the University of Oxford, focusing on Human Activity Recognition under the supervision of Dr. Nicholas Lane.12 Her research interests included activity recognition, ubiquitous sensing, multi-modal learning, and machine learning for health.4

After completing her PhD, Catherine Tong joined Isomorphic Labs as a Research Scientist in December 2022.2 Prior to her doctoral studies, she earned a Master of Physics with First Class Honours from the University of Oxford (2013-2017).2

During her academic career, Catherine gained industry experience through internships at prestigious organizations such as Microsoft Research, Frontier Development Lab, and Nokia Bell Labs.2 She was also recognized with several awards, including being a runner-up for the Gaetano Borriello Outstanding Student Award for her contributions to ubiquitous computing.2
