Well we made it. COP 28 reached an agreement. And in our own contribution we welcomed over 4000 attendees to our Expo City Dubai Pavilion to join conversations across key climate themes.

I wanted to say a massive thank you again to all our brilliant speakers, whose voices, perspectives and ideas animated the stage with much thoughtfulness and wisdom.

I also wanted to do a special shout out to all the individuals who showed up to join our audiences - bringing their intelligence and ideas to our space.

In events, we often focus on speaking - but the audience is such a key element of the conversation. Not only the magical, invisible connections of inspiration which happens through engaging with new ideas – but also through informal conversations, joining in and listening. A huge thank you if you showed up online or in-person and added your presence to these conversations.

A shout out especially to a few special audience members for me – especially Stephanie Maia and Ieva Matiukaite from my previous and still much loved workplace - Edinburgh Science; some of our previous event speakers like the brilliant Lara Rudar who came to listen this time around; our designated expert listeners for our Making Waves session Saeed Alhassan, Paolo Glisenti, Debisha Sharma, SCR, MAHA Al-ZU'BI, Ph.D.; the women from all walks of life who came to participate in the conversation at the Climate Empowerment Circle and everyone else who took part and joined in. Thank you – you were seen, valued and your presence was so appreciated.

I need some time to distil and reflect on everything I have engaged in at COP 28 but one lesson I take away again and again from listening to leaders in the climate space: is that it’s not the government decisions which will bind us, it is us and our everyday power which we will shape the communities and change we wish for.

Grateful we are part of this journey together.  💛 💫 🌏   #savetheplanet #humanitymatters #shoutoutsaturday #cop28uae #expocitydubai #gratitudeinaction #audienceengagement
