The #paralympics2024 are just around the corner, and I can't wait to cheer for the talented Wisconsinites like John Boie, Jake Williams, Nathan Hinze, Becca Murray and my friend and former colleague Jeromie Meyer from The Ability Center! Jeromie recently showcased his skills at the last outdoor Open Gym event hosted by The Ability Center where participants learn and play adaptive sports like wheelchair basketball 🏀 seated volleyball 🏐 wheelchair tennis🎾 and Goal Ball. Wishing Jeromie, the Wheelchair Basketball teams, and all of #TeamUSA the best of luck in Paris! 🇺🇲

There is a beautiful world out there to explore….and now is my time to explore! 🏔 After working 38 years in the corporate world and 5 years in the nonprofit space, I have decided to retire and spend more time with family, friends and traveling. Just came back from a trip visiting Sequoia, Kings Canyon and Pinnacles National Parks in CA and the trip helped solidify my plans.  I loved working for The Ability Center and the mission to provide people impacted by disabilities with a daily opportunity to be fit, active, healthy, and to play. ♿ Proud of my contributions to create more accessible recreation spaces like opening up Bradford Beach ⛱ for everyBODY, establishing many corporate partnerships with organization’s Disability ERG/BRG’s and for working on fundraisers like our 3v3 wheelchair basketball charitable tournaments. Also proud of my long career at First Wisconsin-Firstar-U.S. Bank, the friends I made there, all the products & projects I worked on and the many relationships I cultivated. 🤝 So I’m retiring for now and looking forward to exploring more of God’s beautiful country. And like the picture of me pointing to the horizon on top of Moro Rock, there is much to explore and experience in life and I’m looking forward to it! Thanks to all of you who I met along my life’s journey so far – I hope our paths cross again, until then, stay healthy, explore new places and enjoy life! ❤️
