Chandler Cowell

Chandler Cowell is an Economist at RTI International based in Durham, North Carolina.3 He has a background in environmental science, renewable energy assessment, and geospatial analysis. Cowell holds a BS in Environmental Science with a minor in Renewable Energy Assessment (REAM) from North Carolina State University.2

Cowell's work focuses on environmental and energy-related topics. He co-authored a study on the potential for solar-powered groundwater irrigation in Sub-Saharan Africa, published by RTI Press.1 This research explored the use of off-grid solar pump irrigation to stimulate adoption of off-grid solar systems in underserved regions.

In addition to his economic research, Cowell has shown interest in environmental issues such as ocean plastic pollution.4 He has also been involved in projects related to energy poverty in Africa, as evidenced by his participation in the PIRE program.5
