Highlights
Proud employment law mama moment -- just applied for and received my daughter's entertainment work permit because she will perform with the San Francisco Opera this fall.
On my 45th birthday, I stepped into a courthouse (in-person!!!!) for the first time since my pre-COVID lawyer days. It was for an ex parte, which always fills me with a giddy excitement. Maybe it is because ex parte hearings are always last minute. Maybe because they always seem to be early in the morning.
What made this one even more exciting was that my appearance was unexpected, and I had to find court appropriate clothes last minute (and not just a top because it was in-person).
For years, I kept an emergency suit in my office, but never needed it for a court appearance.
To the other lawyers out there, who else has an emergency suit in their office?
