Highlights
One of my favorite visuals...
Or, in the famous words of Transformers, "There is more than meets the eye."
We are all stitched together, and life is not a linear path. We are all going through something in the background—and what is going on doesn't always mean it's negative. It simply reflects that life and the human experience are lunar, variable, and contrasting. 🌖
Because of that, it's essential to give yourself space and grace. By doing so, you also are able to do it for others.
Being kind rather than the need to be right can go a long way, as you never know what someone is going through.
We are all stitched together, one thread at a time.

Doulas are dope! 🙌🏾
This is my 7th year as a doula, and I've had doulas for my last three births.
This week, a good friend texted me to remind me of the role that doulas play in birth and beyond.
This is what she said: 👇🏾
"Shout out to Charisse and her work as a Doula. In celebration of Black Maternal Health Week! With a deep history of abuse and neglect by our medical system, it's no wonder our communities often feel deterred from seeking medical attention. That's why we'd like to shine the brightest light on Doulas! Here are some great stats about Doulas:
People with Doula support are two times less likely to experience birth complications ✅ People with Doula support are four times less likely to have a low-birth-weight baby. ✅ Doulas also support people through miscarriages, abortions, and adoption processes ✅ Doulas can be covered by insurance with a few important steps. Doulas to help create a positive birthing experience!" ✅
I agree! 💯
It has been an honor to serve humanity through birth and beyond. ✨
