Chariti Montez is currently the Director of the Office of Arts & Culture for the City of Portland, a position she has held since October 2023.1 Prior to this role, she worked for the City of Portland in various capacities since 2010, including:

Chariti is a lifelong musician who has been involved in producing and promoting hundreds of shows, particularly in Jazz, Brazilian, and Mexican folk music, in small to mid-size venues across Portland.1 She has served on various boards and committees, including the St Johns Center for Opportunity and the Metro Parks and Nature Equity Advisory Committee.1
In 2022, Chariti received the Betsy Ames Leadership Award.1 She lives in North Portland and enjoys growing flowers, making things, playing music, reading books, and spending time with friends and family in Mexico.1
