Not a massive poster, but this seems like the kind of thing that's worth taking a few minutes to be grateful publicly for.

I just got tenure!

Which is wild. Especially as someone who teaches students aiming for careers in an industry that is currently on strike, it's very weird to be celebrating having permanent employment (though of course, the world is complicated and programs close and things change so who knows), but it looks likely I'll be at Brooklyn College for the rest of my career, which is insanely exciting. I love where I work and the program I teach in and I couldn't be more excited for the kind of long term strategic planning tenure enables.

I have to be super grateful right now, to all those academics in the past who built the concept of tenure in the first place, to PSC-CUNY our wonderful union, to the amazing faculty who mentored me through the process (Paula, Sarah, Ricardo), and the deans (Maria and Maria) to the students, the best reason for teaching.

Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema, where I am lucky enough to teach, and which might be the best damn film school on earth, is hiring. This place is magic. We are looking for a great distinguished lecturer in directing, and an (also hopefully great) DL production generalist.

Please pass it on to the great filmmakers you know, we're looking to build great things in the navy yard.

Feel free to hit me up with questions.
