Prior to his current position at SpaceX, Charlie gained valuable experience as a Propulsion Manufacturing Engineering Intern at Rocket Lab, participated as a Fellow in the Class of 2019 at the prestigious Matthew Isakowitz Fellowship Program, and conducted research on Mechanical Performance at the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

His academic and professional background also includes roles such as a Research Assistant and an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of New Hampshire. As the President and Lead Engineer at UNH Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS), he showcased his organizational skills and dedication to promoting space science and technology.

Charlie Nitschelm's diverse interests are further highlighted by his involvement as a Bass Singer and Vocal Percussionist in the acapella group Not Too Sharp, demonstrating his creative side outside the realm of engineering and space exploration.
