Here's your daily reminder: to enjoy the Summer.

Because it won't be here forever.

Those green leaves will fall, those long days will shorten and those warm evenings will be as good as gone.

And I get it.

Slowing down is often easier said than done.

Especially when you're full-steam ahead on all those very important projects that are staring right at you. It feels like they won't tick themselves off your to-do list unless you use the opportunity of the Summer to get ahead.

I know because every year this has been me.

And more times than I can count I've sat indoors at my computer while it's 30C outside resenting the heat for making me less productive.

But, this time I'm doing things a little differently...

I've been taking the bike out on unexplored lanes, popping prosecco in the park and hiking over Box Hill to watch one hell of a beautiful sunset.

All with the intention of staying a little more present with the moment, even while I still make solid yet slightly slower progress in all things life and career.

It's safe to say it's going pretty well.

How have you slowed down this Summer?

Last week I started my 20 week training plan.

After 2 months of taking sport a little easier, rediscovering the joy of the long ride and focusing my energies elsewhere we're back baby.

And this time I have 2 main goals for the block:

  1. AG European Triathlon Championships on 22nd Sep.
  2. San Sebastian Marathon on 24th Nov.

But, this time I'm taking a different approach.

In a very Undefinable way I will be run training 4x per week for the marathon distance, while adding in 2x swims, 2x cycles and a gym each week to build the endurance base and ensure I'm fit to enjoy my first triathlon in a GB vest.

It's set to be a fun few months.

And I'll keep you in the loop with how it all goes.
