Dr. Charlotte Gill is an Assistant Professor at George Mason University with extensive experience in applied research, specializing in community-based crime prevention and place-based approaches, especially concerning juveniles and youth. She holds degrees in criminology and law from the Universities of Pennsylvania and Cambridge. Dr. Gill has been recognized for her contributions in randomized trials related to restorative justice and low-intensity probation supervision. Her research interests include community policing, program evaluation, and research synthesis. She received the Young Experimental Scholar award from the Academy of Experimental Criminology in 2012. Currently collaborating on studies focusing on non-arrest strategies for youth and service matching in offender reentry initiatives.

Dr. Gill's specialties encompass communities and crime prevention, community policing, place-based criminology, youth crime, evidence-based crime policy, program evaluation, quantitative research methods, research synthesis, SPSS, and Stata.

Her educational background includes a Ph.D. in Criminology from the University of Pennsylvania, an M.Phil in Criminology, and an M.A. in Law from the University of Cambridge.

Throughout her career, Dr. Gill has held various positions such as Deputy Director, Senior Research Associate, and Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Center for Evidence-Based Crime Policy at George Mason University. She has also served as the Managing Editor of the Campbell Collaboration Crime & Justice Group and as a Research Associate at the Justice Research Consortium in London.
