Having embarked on her academic journey at Sint-Janscollege Sint-Amandsberg, where she studied Grieks-Latijn, Charlotte developed an early appreciation for the intricacies of language and culture, which has inspired her career path in historical studies and communication. Continuing her education at Universiteit Gent, Charlotte earned both her Bachelor’s and Master's degrees in History, strengthening her expertise and critical thinking skills while developing a nuanced understanding of historical contexts and narratives.
Her professional journey is marked by a range of impactful roles that highlight her ability to connect with diverse audiences and facilitate meaningful cultural exchanges. Currently, she is engaged with VI.BE, focusing on communication and partnership initiatives that support artists and creative entrepreneurs in Belgium. This role allows Charlotte to leverage her historical insights and communication skills to foster collaboration and innovation within the arts community.
Prior to her current position, Charlotte served as the Coördinator for Curieus Oost-Vlaanderen at Curieus vzw, where she played a vital role in organizing cultural activities and promoting local heritage. Her work involved coordinating events that encouraged public participation and education, strengthening community ties through shared cultural experiences. Furthermore, her previous experience with MiramirO vzw as a personnel administrator and artist liaison showcased her organizational prowess and commitment to supporting the arts sector. Charlotte also contributed to the cultural landscape as a Publiekswerker (public worker) at Film Fest Gent, where she engaged film enthusiasts and provided insights into cinematic narratives, enriching their festival experience.
Charlotte's path in the arts extends beyond administrative roles. Her experience as a Gids (guide) for various cultural institutions, including Vizit Gent and during exhibitions like 'De Andere Verbeeld / Verbeeld Gevaar' at KMS, demonstrates her exceptional communication skills and her passion for making art and history accessible to the public. During her time with Ars Musica International Contemporary Music Festival, Charlotte took on a volunteer role that ignited her interest in contemporary arts, further diversifying her experience.
Her early career also included significant internships at Het Huis van Alijn, where she gained hands-on experience in exhibition organization and public engagement. Each role she has undertaken reflects her dedication to cultural promotion and her ability to work collaboratively with influential institutions and organizations in the region.
