Healing the planet by making single-use plastic obsolete

Chelsea Fawn Briganti, also known as Sea F. Briganti, is the co-founder and CEO of LOLIWARE, a company pioneering sustainable alternatives to single-use plastics.13 Born and raised in Hawaii, Briganti's deep connection with the ocean led to her commitment to eliminate plastic waste and protect the environment.14

Briganti graduated from Parsons School of Design, where she excelled in her studies.1 She co-founded LOLIWARE in 2015, creating the world's first certified edible material technology to replace plastic.13 The company's initial product was an edible disposable cup, which gained significant attention and led to an order of 60,000 cups from Pernod Ricard.5

Under Briganti's leadership, LOLIWARE has evolved to focus on seaweed-based biomaterials, developing products such as the LOLISTRAW, a hypercompostable and edible drinking straw.24 The company aims to replace the billions of plastic straws used annually worldwide with their sustainable alternatives.4

Briganti has successfully raised significant funding for LOLIWARE, with the company securing $19.2 million to date from investors including L Catterton, Kilara Capital, H/L Ventures, and Coca Cola.6 Her innovative approach has earned recognition, with LOLIWARE being named one of America's top-performing Greentech companies by TIME and winning the Google Single-Use Plastics Challenge.6

As an entrepreneur and social innovator, Briganti continues to drive LOLIWARE's mission of advancing the planet towards a plastic-free, decarbonized future through the development and deployment of their proprietary SEA Technology® resins.36
