An opportunity to brag about my "winning team" including my incredibly supportive partner in all things, Giovanni Salimena, and the teammates at Nike who I cherish for their partnership, teamwork, mentorship, and zest! It's fun to be featured like this, but more fun to work with all the great folks who make it happen.

Long days, short years. Today marks 7 years + 7 days at Nike. In an amazing stroke of good fortune, I got to reflect on my Swoosh journey to-date while seated next to Phil Knight at dinner yesterday. He was full of remarkable, detailed, and often hilarious stories dating back 50+ years. His true love of sport came through as he talked not only about the college + pro teams he loves but also the connections sport has helped him forge with incredible people - ranging from the head of NASA decades ago to his grand-nieces today. What struck me most, however, was his obvious love to push, to persevere, and to compete. If ever I’ve seen the thrill of the fight, I saw it in PHK’s eyes. Earlier in the evening, I heard advice from other Nike board members including Tim Cook, John Rogers, Michelle Peluso and Alan Graf. When asked to advise on leadership, they highlighted these competencies: grit + grace in strong combination, good communication led by excellent listening, empathy, resilience, and reveling the joy of the team. To all my Nike teammates past, present, and future: here’s to the joy of the team and the thrill of the fight. Thanks, Melanie Harris, for the opportunity and Ann Miller, Michael Mlakar, Rebecca Jury CPC,MP-ELI, Roger C., Virginia Rustique-Petteni for the fabulous company. #nike #swooshlife
