Today, we're excited to launch our 2023 Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Report, themed ‘Serving More People, Better’. This report highlights our commitment to integrating ESG principles into our business strategy and showcases the progress we've made.

Key Highlights:

🌱 Mitigating Environmental Impact We've increased the distance traveled using low/zero emission transport modes to 6.3%. This is driven by the expansion of our 'GrabEV' rental program in Thailand, along with boosting Indonesia’s GrabElectric fleet to 10,000 two-wheel EVs.

💼 Championing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) 36% of Grab’s leadership positions are now held by women, marking a 2 percentage point increase year-on-year. We are on track to achieve our target of 40% women in leadership by 2030.

🚗 Enhancing Income Opportunities We've onboarded over 1 million new driver-partners and 500,000 merchant-partners. Additionally, we're empowering over 3,100 partners with disabilities (PWDs) on our platform, moving steadily towards our goal of 4,200 active PWDs by 2025.

👩‍🦰 Empowering Women Drivers Our Grab Women Drivers’ Programme has boosted monthly active women drivers by 7%. Launched in Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia, the program includes:

  • Women Passengers Preferred (Beta): A safety feature to match women drivers with women passengers.
  • Women-only Community: A safe space for support and networking.
  • Specialised Onboarding & Training: Addressing challenges such as driving confidence and managing harassment.

As a long-time Grabber, I'm humbled to play a part in our journey toward sustainability. It’s an honor to work alongside leaders like Anthony Tan and Alex Hungate, who are deeply committed to the people we serve.

Grab recently started testing a new feature with our women driver-partners. When toggled on, the Women Passengers Preferred (BETA) feature increases the chance of women drivers being matched with women passengers, if there is one looking for a ride nearby.

This feature is part of the broader Grab’s Women Programme that is being rolled out across Southeast Asia, to empower more women to benefit from the earning opportunities available on our platform. 🚗🚲💪

We spoke with our existing women driver-partners and found that many had doubts about whether driving or delivering food was suitable for them before they joined us. To address these concerns, we are offering tailored onboarding and training sessions as part of the programme for them. We are also setting up women-only communities so that our women partners have a safe space to connect and support one another.
