Highlights
Hi friends, I’m #OpenToWork and could use your support! In the current ATS/GPT-driven recruiting market, by far the most valuable thing is to help me get my resume just looked at by a person. Of course a good word to the hiring manager is even better when you can. :)
I’d also be grateful for pointers to suitable roles - I’m looking for full-time, and as a lifelong generalist there are lots of ways I can add value for the people in an org. I’m moderately technical, expertly lean/agile, and I excel at people management and professional development for diverse humans.
For many of us in the job-seeker community, it can get really isolating. Even if you don’t have work to offer, your #OpenToWork friends might be grateful for an encouraging note or a catch-up Zoom call.
Thanks especially to everyone at #Agile2024 this week for all your kind words and thoughtful questions! I appreciate you, community!
Minds Matter Seattle is grateful to Bridget Chavez and KIRO 7 for spotlighting how the FAFSA debacle impacts deserving local seniors and their families, and for giving our students an opportunity to share their experiences! (I’m in it, too.) This is a cohort who struggled through high school in the pandemic and now have to face unprecedented chaos and uncertainty around their hard-earned college acceptances. Some of my soon-to-be graduates might not know where they can afford to attend until late this summer, we’re now hearing.
Financial aid is challenging enough in a GOOD year - that’s why community-based organizations like MMSEA are so important. If you’re looking for a way to make a difference and help young people create their futures, please consider volunteering as a mentor or tutor for a chapter near you!
