I am pleased to tell current and future friends on Linkedin about my newest venture, Rishi Nolan Strategies, a boutique consultancy created in collaboration and partnership with Chima Nkemdirim, K.C.
We both were proud to have been part of the small leadership team that led the regulatory and communications strategy to close the $26-billion sale of Shaw Communications to Rogers Communications in 2023.
Widely recognized as one of the most complex transactions to be approved in Canada, that deal demonstrated to us the value that boutique, tailored, and focused strategic advice can provide to senior leaders.
We started Rishi Nolan Strategies to deliver seasoned strategic advice to C-suite executives, boards of directors, and governments.
Chima and I have more than five decades of combined experience working with public and private companies, governments, and not-for-profit organizations across Canada, providing counsel and leadership on complex regulatory matters, stakeholder management, change management, strategic communications, and government relations.
We are excited and grateful to the senior leaders and organizations that have engaged us already.
Personally, nothing could have prepared me with the confidence for this venture like my experiences at some exceptional companies over 30+years, including The Globe and Mail, The Financial Post, Fidelity Investments, Scotia Capital, RBC, Manulife, and Shaw Communications. In each of these and other places, I had the good fortune to work and learn from exceptional leaders, peers, and team members who helped make me a better professional and a better person. I am grateful to all of you.

Rishi Nolan Strategies Chima Nkemdirim
It’s been a couple weeks since my last day at Shaw Communications, following its merger with Rogers Communications. For those two weeks, I’ve had occasions to reflect on the 10+ years I had as a part of the Shaw leadership team, and I usually find something to smile about every time.
More than a decade of learning from some of the most generous groups of leaders, team members, and people. In that time, I got the chance to be a part of exceptionally interesting projects — groundbreaking work in some cases — and I had the good fortune to develop and lead the formation of what became a highly capable and high performing communications function.
I have so many good memories of the past decade — of battles waged, challenges met, goals exceeded, and friendships made. It’s going to take some searching to figure out where I will again have such opportunities, and I will take all the time I need to be sure.
For now, thank you to everyone who helped me learn, win, and succeed. I am lucky to be so grateful to so many.
