Chiara Libiseller

PhD candidate and GTA at the War Studies Department, KCL

Chiara Libiseller is a dedicated researcher focusing on identifying broader paradigms and patterns in how the US, the UK, and NATO develop knowledge about war.

Her research delves into concepts and labels of war and warfare that have emerged post-Cold War, such as 'hybrid warfare' and 'Fourth Generation warfare'.

Through analyzing the evolution of these concepts, their interrelationships, and underlying assumptions, Chiara aims to offer a comprehensive understanding of contemporary knowledge about war of these key actors, enabling insight into doctrine, strategy, and defense policy within a wider context.

Chiara holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Defence Studies, a Master of Arts (MA) in International Peace and Security with Distinction, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Political Science with Distinction.

She has contributed to various organizations, including serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at King's College London and holding research roles at institutions like the Strategic Leaders Academy and Leopold-Franzens Universität Innsbruck.

Additionally, Chiara has experience as a Study Skills Leader at Library Services, King's College London, an Editorial Assistant at the Austrian Journal of Political Science, and a Tutor and Research Assistant at the University of Innsbruck.
