UK Energy Storage Innovation Lead at Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS)

Chloe Lianos is a CleanTech enthusiast who is heavily involved in Energy Storage Innovation at the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, where she focuses on funding and managing innovation to drive the UK's decarbonisation efforts. She is particularly engaged in the Storage at Scale initiative, a key project aimed at advancing energy storage technologies.

Chloe's educational background includes a Master of Research (MRes) in Green Chemistry with a specialization in Energy and the Environment from Imperial College London, where she achieved a Distinction. She also holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Chemistry with First-Class Honors from the University of Sussex. Her A levels in Chemistry, Biology, and Philosophy were completed with outstanding grades at Camden School for Girls.

With diverse experiences across various organizations, Chloe has served as the Smart Energy Innovation Programme Manager, leading UK Energy Storage Innovation efforts at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). Prior to this role, she was a Project Delivery Fast Stream Trainee at Civil Service Fast Stream and held positions such as Talent Associate at Entrepreneur First, Journey Participant at Climate-KIC, Monitoring and Evaluation Volunteer at Progressio UK, and Community Outreach Specialist at The Baytree Centre.

Chloe Lianos has also contributed to sustainability initiatives as a Sustainability Associate at HW Fisher & Company and gained experience in telecommunications as a Teleagent at Handa Directmarketing Ltd. Furthermore, she has actively supported environmental causes and advocacy as a Volunteer & Campaigner at Friends of the Earth.
