Recap of Day 2 at Identiverse:

  1. #AI will play an important role in the industry landscape through ML analytics able to detect outliers / anomalies and GenAI able to convey these findings and suggest actions, so great for IGA and IDTR. Great keynote by John Pritchard, Ph.D.. Do feel we still need more clarity from vendors whether data is used to train global or private models, as well as opt-in/out controls for customers.

  2. #zeroknowledgeproofs (ZKP) with verifiable credentials are a promising Privacy-Enhancing Technology (PET) though we still lack the standards and technologies to make this a reality. Current implementations use selective disclosure which isn't ZKP. Good talks by Zack Martin, Jamie Danker & John Wunderlich. Latter also highlighting the difference between (zero) trust on a technical level versus (non-zero) trust at an organizational level.

  3. #securitycooperation through the Shared Signals Framework (SSF) is gaining more momentum, mainly thanks to big players like Google and Apple adopting this approach, with CAEP describing the type of events. Great panel conversations with Tim Cappalli, Shayne Miel, Sean O'Dell & Atul Tulshibagwale and mention in keynote by Pamela Dingle. Still work to be done on building (open) ecosystems and the challenges those will bring.

  4. #oauth2 is still gaining more security extensions, a lot of focus seems to be around securing (PAR) and enriching (RAR) the initial authorization request, sender-constrained tokens (mTLS/DPoP), selective disclosure (SD-JWT) and best current practices (BCPs). Good talk by Aaron Parecki. Still lots of exciting stuff down the pipeline with client attestation sounding promising and OAuth 2.1 becoming an official standard soon!
