Spanish Communication Coordinator at SIM
Chris Conti is a dedicated individual who has spent 17 years serving in Lima Peru leveraging her extensive background in journalism and teaching, along with her passion for discipleship.
In her role as the Spanish Communication Coordinator for SIM, Chris leads a team in Peru responsible for managing the SIM website and social media platforms in Spanish, and also oversees the production of an electronic magazine.
With a strong commitment to mentoring and mobilizing the Latin American church, Chris initially worked as a high school journalism teacher in Indiana before embarking on her missionary journey to Peru in 2003 with SIM.
During her time with SIM, Chris has taken on various responsibilities including serving as a staff worker with the IFES university student group, assisting missionaries in Ecuador, Chile, and Peru with media requirements, and ultimately being appointed as the Spanish Communication Coordinator in 2006.
Under her leadership, her team in Peru creates media content and resources in Spanish, such as the electronic magazine VAMOS, which reaches more than 20,000 readers and provides valuable information about global missions to Latin American churches, pastors, and missionaries.
Apart from her media-related work, Chris plays a vital role in the missionary sending process by supporting candidates and collaborating with their churches, resulting in the successful deployment of several Peruvians to different parts of the world.
Her impact extends globally as she has contributed to reshaping missionary sending processes within SIM through the development of new documents and initiatives.
Chris's ultimate goal is to facilitate the growth of Christians in their understanding of their role in God's global plan, and she actively fulfills this through her current position as the coordinator of the Network of Churches and Mission Agencies in Lima, focusing on mobilizing the Church.
Chris's work can be accessed and explored through various channels including the VAMOS magazine and the training manual for Latino missionaries, which serves as a valuable resource for individuals interested in missions.
With a deep commitment to expanding Kingdom projects, Chris continues to impact the global mission field through her ongoing efforts and collaborations.
