In 1996, Chris Cooney orchestrated the acquisition of DeLaurentis Carolco Studios in Wilmington, NC, transforming it into a pivotal player in the East Coast film industry, hosting major productions like Marvel's 'Iron Man 3' and Blumhouse Productions' 'Halloween Kills,' as well as popular television series such as 'One Tree Hill' and 'Dawson's Creek.'

Under his leadership, the Wilmington studio prospered, becoming a hub for the entertainment industry. In 2010, as the COO of the consolidated facilities, Cooney spearheaded the expansion into Atlanta, where the 11-stage studio hosted blockbuster productions like Marvel's 'Black Panther' and Netflix's 'Stranger Things.'
