Dear science-minded folks, here is something Universal to contemplate.
AllTime
Talking about the Big Bang and Time almost always launches a discussion of multi-verses, wormholes, and other amazing speculations regarding the potential nature of a multitude of Universes, some of which could be a part of ours.
AllTime is not one of these speculative hypotheses. Instead, it's a nuts and bolts scientific system.
So what is AllTime?
During the time of the Millennium Celebration ( 2000 AD ), serendipitous events were unfolding. Many hypotheses about how the Universe came about( and when) were being confirmed, and it was becoming clear that the Universe began at a Big Bang. And that this Big Bang occurred 13.7 Billion Years ago BC.
The BC system was created at a time when people had no clue as to the age of the universe, so the only logical way to express time was to pick an arbitrary point, such as a famous crucifixion, and run-time forwards and backward from this point. Time running forward is presently called Anno Domini (AD). The time that runs "backward" is presently called BC. BC is the "backward" count. it's can be seen as a series of negative numbers which accumulate as they recede into the past. For instance, Julius Caesar lived in the BC world where every year, he became a year older, but the year became a year "younger." This was always a weird situation.
And consider this: in the AD/BC system, there are only 2022 years that are counted forward, and the rest are counted Backwards! That's 13,7 billion years of "negative" time!
AllTime fixes this. AllTime is the first and possibly the only system that counts Time from the Time Time began.
AllTime is a great improvement over the system we accept as normal these days. Normal? The morning paper has a date on it - it's 2022, and it's a count that started at a zero point at the crucifixion of Jesus. 2022 years is a very small segment of time, particularly when compared to what is the real scope of time. So now, we can fashion a new system that starts counting Time from the beginning of Time;
This is AllTime.
So what Time is it now? Well, it could be expressed as AllTime 13.7 Billion 2022 years (or AT 13.7B 2022) which is All the Time from the Big Bang until the arbitrary point plus the time from the arbitrary point until Now.
