Chris Loughran, a seasoned professional, is the Senior Policy Advisor at The HALO Trust, a prominent international humanitarian NGO operating across 25 conflict-affected countries. Concurrently, he serves as an Honorary Fellow at the esteemed Humanitarian & Conflict Response Institute of the University of Manchester.

With a rich background in leadership spanning over fifteen years in the United Kingdom and abroad, Chris spearheads HALO's global policy change endeavors and directs the organization's thought leadership initiatives. He excels as a spokesperson, backed by a decade of expertly navigating high-level representations at the United Nations.

Beyond his role at The HALO Trust, Chris dedicates his time and expertise to various philanthropic causes. He contributes as a Board of Trustees member at Platfform, a prominent charity focusing on Welsh mental health and social change. Additionally, he holds the positions of Trustee and Director at the Association of British Orchestras, showcasing his diverse philanthropic engagements.

Prior to his impactful contributions to the non-profit sector, Chris gained valuable experience during his four-year tenure at the UK Ministry of Defence in Whitehall. He boasts a solid educational background, holding a Bachelor’s degree from the prestigious University of Oxford and a Masters in Conflict and Development studies from the renowned School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London.
