Highlights
Samaritan Partners Fund I is pioneering a brand new venture model - the "benefit fund", an innovative approach that ingrains social impact into the fund's DNA.
As my legal partners, Frank Martin and Brandon Leppke of Cole-Frieman & Mallon LLP, detail in their recent Stanford Social Innovation Review article, this public benefit structure aligns investor incentives with the public good, mitigates greenwashing risks, and cements impact integrity. https://lnkd.in/eQqQ7SgR
Samaritan Partners' initial investments in Wheel the World, Vertical Harvest Farms, Robin, and Be My Eyes represent the next step in impact investing. Investors or entrepreneurs who would like to learn more, please reach out.

I am happy to share that after 25 years as an operator in small to mid-sized VC-backed companies, and 20 years raising two daughters with physical or developmental challenges, I recently launched Samaritan Partners and my first venture fund.
Samaritan Partners Fund I, LP is a public benefit venture capital fund, which may be the first of its kind. We bridge the gap between traditional for-profit investing and nonprofit giving. The fund invests in early-stage companies that provide products and services to, employ, or otherwise empower underserved or underrepresented people and communities. Our mission is to support those people and communities that others tend to forget—the vulnerable, those living with challenges, and those who have been overlooked, underestimated, or undercounted.
The fund's unique structure as a public benefit venture fund holds us accountable to our mission and ensures alignment between Samaritan Partners and our key stakeholders—our investors, our portfolio companies, and the communities we aim to serve.
We have already received commitments from a number of investors and the fund has made its first two investments in Wheel the World and Vertical Harvest Farms (more on those in subsequent posts). If you are a like-minded investor and would like to learn more about becoming an investor in the fund, please reach out. Additionally, if you are a mission-driven entrepreneur addressing real problems for people and communities within the fund’s stated public benefit, let’s connect.
