Chris Wood, also known as Chris PEng, is the President of Lex Engineering, a reputable firm specializing in electric power, industrial, and energy sectors for 40 years in Western Canada.

He brings over 25 years of electrical industry experience to his role as President, being a proficient executive, technical leader, project manager, and adept team builder with mentoring skills.

His expertise lies in various areas including Protection and Control, Commissioning, Substation Design, Transmission and Distribution Line Support, Asset Management, Turbines, Renewables, and Engineering Studies.

With a background spanning across Manufacturing, Utility, EPC, and Gas & Oil sectors, Chris is a registered engineer in both Canada and the USA.

In addition to his industry commitments, he serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Calgary, delivering electrical engineering courses and winning multiple teaching accolades.

Chris holds a Doctor of Engineering - PhD, a Master of Science - MS, both in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of South Carolina, and a Bachelor of Science - BS in Electrical Engineering from the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary.

Furthermore, he pursued a Bachelor of Arts - BA in English Literature with a focus on British and Commonwealth themes at the University of Calgary.

Throughout his career, Chris has held significant positions including President at Lex Engineering Ltd., Principal Electrical Engineer at Principal Power Engineering, Vice President and Principal Engineer at PEC Engineering and Construction, and roles in leading organizations like AltaLink, Duke Energy Corporation, Eaton, and TransAlta.

His abilities extend to mentoring, project management, power systems, control principles, and an innovative leadership style characterized by meticulous attention to detail.
