Christina Riehman-Murphy

Open and Affordable Educational Resources Librarian at Penn State University

Christina Riehman-Murphy is the Assistant Librarian at Penn State University. She serves as the Sally W. Kalin Librarian for Learning Innovations and the Open and Affordable Educational Resources Librarian.

Christina is the co-program manager of a faculty grant at Penn State Abington, supporting the transition to open and affordable resources for courses, helping students save over $90,000. She manages a project where faculty and students collaboratively create an open textbook on early modern literature.

In addition to her library work, Christina is involved in global humanities initiatives. She collaborates with an undergraduate research project on a historical recipe manuscript transcription and has started the 'Great Rare Books Bake Off' international event in partnership with Monash University Library.

Christina Riehman-Murphy is also a faculty co-leader for a study abroad program in Ghana. Prior to her current role, she worked at the Montgomery County Library system and was a high school English teacher.

Her educational background includes a Masters of Education from The University of Dayton, a Masters of Science in Library Science from PennWest Clarion, and a BA in English and Secondary Education from The Catholic University of America.
