Good things come in threes! Today, I got to celebrate 3 years of working at For The People. It's a dream to wake up every day and be able to work alongside formerly incarcerated people, prosecutors, communicators, and just smart, smart people to transform the justice system for the better. I have Hillary Blout to thank for making this dream a reality.
Since my first day at FTP, we’ve tripled in size, published multiple reports, produced several videos, secured articles in places like Newsweek, Bloomberg, and The Washington Post, won Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas award, spoken at institutions like UPenn and Stanford, and so much more -- all in hopes of spreading the word to safely bring people home from prison.
Beyond our mission, one of the many reasons I love working here is people's thoughtfulness & care in the little things. It’s not every workplace where your boss will surprise you with a framed photo of your pup on your desk, or your coworkers will leave flowers and treats for you.
As I always say: I came for the mission and I stayed for the people (as our name would suggest). Can’t wait to see what we'll do in the next 3 years!
