Christopher Oakley is a multifaceted individual with a passion for animation, teaching, art, and history.

He is renowned for leading a groundbreaking undergraduate research initiative at UNC Asheville known as 'The Virtual Lincoln Project' for the past four years.

His project focuses on digitally bringing Abraham Lincoln to life to deliver The Gettysburg Address, attracting both national and international acclaim.

Christopher Oakley's noteworthy contributions also include the discovery of a potentially unidentified image of Abraham Lincoln at Gettysburg.

He holds an MFA in Film with a focus on screenwriting and directing from Columbia University in the City of New York, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre/Theater from Lawrence University.

With a rich professional background, Christopher Oakley has held key positions such as Associate Professor & Chair of New Media at the University of North Carolina Asheville.

He has previously served as an Associate Professor of New Media as well as an Assistant Professor at the same institution.

Prior to his academic roles, Christopher Oakley honed his skills as an Animator at prestigious studios including DreamWorks Animation and Walt Disney Animation Studios.
